Thinking of Running for Office? Learn More!

It’s great to have elected officials who support workers, but it’s even better to have elected officials who are workers.

At all levels of government, elected officials make daily decisions that impact workers and their families. Working people deserve a voice on issues like providing living wages and protecting the right to organize — and nobody knows these issues better than union members like you. Have you considered running for office?

Learn more at the MBTU Futures meeting on Wednesday, April 26, from 4-6 pm at Painters DC 35 (25 Colgate Road, Roslindale, MA 02131). In addition to updates and information on the state building trades’ priorities, a representative from the Massachusetts AFL-CIO will provide details about the Union Member Candidate School (below) for anyone interested.

The Massachusetts AFL-CIO is hosting Union Member Candidate School on Saturday, April 29, from 10 am-2 pm at Plumbers Local 12 (1240 Mass. Ave., Dorchester, MA 02125).
